My daughter is obsessed with the part where Paul and Suzanne dress the scarecrow in their parents' old clothes, she laughs every time. The French is simple enough for her to follow along without me translating every line.

The scarecrow made from the parents' old clothes is such a clever touch, my kids immediately started pointing out which shirt looked like dad's. Simple French text that even my beginner reader could follow along with.

I bought this for my 6-year-old who's learning French, and the story of Paul and Suzanne chasing the black bird away from their seeds kept him hooked the whole way through. The scarecrow made from the parents' old clothes gave us a fun little talk about reusing things instead of tossing them.
