De sprookjes

I picked this up for my French immersion class and the traditional story angle fits right into our social studies unit. The language level is accessible without feeling dumbed down, which is rare for fairy tale collections.

These French fairy tales are a perfect bridge between language learning and social studies—each story ties into traditional cultural themes that my kids actually find engaging. The vocabulary is challenging but not overwhelming for intermediate learners.

My students actually stay focused during these fairy tales, which says a lot for a class of eight-year-olds. The stories tie in nicely with our social studies unit on traditional tales, and the French is simple enough for them to follow along.
