Pauls Wolkenkrabber

The counting is seamlessly woven into the story, so my son is learning numbers without even realizing it. The collaborative building plot keeps him engaged, and the illustrations are detailed enough that we spot something new each read.

My daughter asks for this one every night now. We count along with Paul and Susan on each page, and she actually gets excited when we reach the higher numbers on the skyscraper. The counting is woven into the story so naturally that she doesn't realize she's learning.

The pages are sturdy enough for little hands, and the counting game really keeps my kid engaged as we follow Paul and Susan up the floors. Only wish there were a few more pages—my son finishes it in one sitting and asks for a sequel every time.
