Used this with my French class to compare how circus families live versus how my students grow up. The stories being in French rather than translated made it a real language exercise, not just reading comprehension.

I bought this for my French reading practice and didn't expect the circus theme to double as a lesson on nomadic lifestyles. Each story is short enough to finish in one sitting, which keeps me from getting discouraged. My vocabulary has improved more in three weeks than in months of flashcards.

Used this with my grade 5 French immersion class during our unit on communities, and the circus angle made the social studies connection click for them. The stories are short enough to hold attention while introducing vocabulary about different lifestyles. My only wish is that there were a few more
