Bought this for my kids who are learning French, and the squabbling in the car scene had them giggling because it's exactly like our road trips. The vocabulary is simple enough for beginners but the Rocky Mountains setting keeps it interesting.

The story about the bighorn sheep showing up just as the kids start fighting is spot-on for real family trips. We read it in French during our own long drive, and it had everyone laughing instead of bickering.
